What is this lab like?

There are moments that only happen around a table. Wooden spoon. Pastoril food and generational transmission proposes to capture these moments by filming them: six short films shot in dining rooms, kitchens, huts and porches of six cabrera families from La Vera and the Tiétar Valley. At each meeting, a meal is shared with family members and guests linked to the pastoral culture: musicians, artisans, cooks, architects. The script is minimal. The excuse, pure: the dish and the spoon. It is not a forced connection but letting happen what only happens when people eat together. The films are projected in the villages of origin of each family through the cycle Visiones Veratas, the film club of El Cinorrio active since 2024, with a supra-municipal character that expands the scope and territorial accessibility of the project.

Who’s driving the lab?

Local agent: El Cinorrio

El Cinorrio is an intergenerational community of neighbors and friends of Villanueva de la Vera constituted as an association in 2020. Without physical headquarters - all the houses are headquarters, the hammocks of the neighbors are offices -, they work with cultural language and citizen innovation to value extensive pastoralism in the Sierra de Gredos. His lines of work include: recovery of folklore, valorization of the local product, landscape regeneration, youth roots and audiovisual creation. Present in national forums such as the Meeting of Culture and Citizenship and in the EPA! Rural Youth network, with European connections. Their goal: to bring the voice and knowledge of bastards and cabreras to places that are unaware of their reality.
